The Hungarian wooden kitchen furniture market started the period at USD 37.1 million in 2018, marked by the entry of a new major player FAVI, which expanded supply by offering products from over 250 home furniture manufacturers. The market volume dipped to USD 34.8 million the following year, but recovered to USD 40.1 million in 2020, aided by production and business process modernization at Akril Bútor, a company specializing in kitchen countertops and furniture.

In subsequent years, consumer-oriented trends gained strength. In 2022, FAVI launched an aggressive campaign simplifying product selection and promoting seasonal discounts, bolstering the online furniture segment. Simultaneously, demand grew for solid wood furniture, eco-friendly design, and personalized solutions, especially among younger buyers, stimulating new market niches. By 2023, kitchen design was dominated by a blend of Japanese and Scandinavian styles, with popularity rising for wooden fronts, open shelves, and handleless cabinets.

By 2024, the market had expanded to USD 49.2 million, receiving an additional boost from growing demand for sustainable furniture made from recycled materials, as well as continued innovation in design by Akril Bútor. Furniture mobility and adaptability also became key selection factors for Hungarian consumers.
