Wood in the rough production in Guinea began a steady increase from 8 444 thousand tonnes in 2018, supported by the expansion of the mining sector. The entry of new industrial players into mining raised annual production capacity, creating additional demand for timber used in infrastructure and operational support.

Growth continued through 2021, with production reaching 8 525 thousand tonnes. In 2022, the government established a reference price for bauxite to ensure equitable revenue sharing and combat illegal transfers, stabilizing the mining sector and maintaining consistent demand for wood.

By 2023, production had risen to 8 585 thousand tonnes. In 2024, authorities organized workshops and decentralized ministerial meetings in the mining region of Boké to strengthen control over mineral resources, further supporting a stable environment for timber production.
