The market relied entirely on domestic production, as imports were absent and exports remained minimal.

The upward trend was bolstered from 2021 by a clear government policy to prioritize local timber processing over raw log exports. This included the introduction of a digital domestic wood market platform, which improved trade efficiency. In 2022, a ban on exporting 76 tree species as logs further channeled timber resources into the local economy, increasing the raw material base for value-added products like charcoal and supporting continued production growth.
