A strong recovery to 8.8 million units occurred in 2022, driven by consumer preference for fashionable items such as coats with animal prints and padded designs, which heightened demand for comfortable and warm outerwear.

The market contracted to 7.7 million units in 2023 even as online sales grew to represent 22.8% of the channel mix and sustainability became a key trend. For the 2024 season, fashion influences included long coats, bright colors, and checks, while the online channel continued to gain importance.
