Earlier Report Observations

The wheat bran, sharps and residues market in Poland experienced substantial growth between 2018 and 2022. Market volume in physical terms increased from 759 thousand tons to 1 065 thousand tons, while its value rose from 68 million $ to 143 million $. This expansion was initially fueled by growing consumer interest in fiber-rich food products, which supported higher domestic consumption of wheat bran. Production capacity also grew significantly during this period, reaching 1 199 thousand tons by 2022.

A sharp reversal occurred in 2023, with market volume contracting to 607 thousand tons and value falling to 77 million $. Production dropped to 801 thousand tons, indicating a significant market adjustment. The following year saw a partial recovery, as market volume rose to 685 thousand tons in 2024, supported by the ongoing global trend toward healthier, high-fiber ingredients which continued to influence demand.
