Between 2018 and 2020, imports of welded iron or steel tubes remained stable at around 62,000 to 66,000 tons, while exports declined from nearly 10,000 tons to under 4,000 tons. This trend shifted from 2021 onward, with imports peaking at over 67,000 tons in 2023 and exports recovering to above 6,000 tons by 2024, before a significant export jump to 11,000 tons is indicated for 2025.

Domestic production, available from 2021, showed initial growth from 10,697 tons to 11,104 tons in 2022, followed by a sharp contraction to 5,234 tons in 2023 before rebounding to 10,910 tons in 2024. Consequently, the physical market volume experienced fluctuations, dropping from 70,761 tons in 2021 to 64,221 tons in 2022, then rising to 68,547 tons in 2023 and stabilizing at 68,887 tons in 2024.

In value terms, the market presented a different picture. Despite a surge in import value to $89.7 million in 2021, the total market value consistently declined from $95.8 million in 2021 to $72.5 million in 2024. This decrease occurred alongside a volatile domestic production value, which fell from $15.0 million in 2022 to $6.4 million in 2023, reflecting potential shifts in product mix or price pressures.

That year, exports reached 5 616 tons, marking a significant 56.3% increase compared to 2020. Looking at the broader period from 2018 to 2021, exports overall decreased by 42.9%, with a compound annual growth rate of -17.0%. The lowest export volume was recorded in 2020 at 3 594 tons, which also saw the largest annual decline of 46.4%.

From 2018 to 2021, Italy dominated Bosnia and Herzegovina's exports in kind, accounting for 82.0% of the total volume. The remaining 18.0% was distributed among various smaller markets.
