The German market for vehicle fittings in base metal experienced significant volatility between 2018 and 2024. After starting at 140.6 thousand tons in 2018, market volume declined moderately in 2019 before contracting sharply to 109.7 thousand tons in 2020.

A gradual recovery followed, with volume reaching 112.8 thousand tons in 2021 and then jumping to 128.4 thousand tons in 2022. Growth continued at a slower pace in 2023, when the market peaked for the period at 130.8 thousand tons.

In 2024, however, the market volume retreated to 121.5 thousand tons. In value terms, the market followed a similar pattern, falling from 1 048 million USD in 2018 to a low of 741 million USD in 2020, then recovering to over 1 billion USD by 2023.
