The Czech market for base metal vehicle fittings began the period at USD 74.4 million in 2018 but declined to USD 61.1 million the following year. The market then contracted sharply to USD 36.5 million in 2020, primarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted global supply chains and affected the availability of raw materials and production capacities.

A recovery followed in 2021, with the market rising to USD 51.9 million, driven by the global increase in demand for electric and hybrid vehicles, which bolstered need for lightweight metal components. However, the market dipped again to USD 47.1 million in 2022.

From 2023 onward, the market entered a phase of strong expansion, reaching USD 69.4 million in 2023 and climbing further to USD 88.5 million in 2024.

Czechia's vehicle fittings production volume has decreased for the third year in a row. In 2021, the country produced 3 906 tonnes of vehicle fittings, which is 18.0% lower than in the previous year. From 2018 to 2021, production dropped by 23.7%, with a compound annual growth rate of -8.6%.

In 2021, vehicle fittings exports from Czechia reached 26 763 tonnes, showing a gradual improvement of 6.6% from the year before. Over the period from 2018 to 2021, exports decreased by 11%, with a compound annual growth rate of -3.8%. The lowest export volume was recorded in 2020 at 25 109 tonnes, while the highest was in 2019 at 32 756 tonnes. The largest decline occurred in 2020, falling by 23.3%, whereas the largest increase was in 2019, rising by 8.9%.

After two years of decline, vehicle fittings exports from Czechia increased in 2021. The country exported 165.5 million US dollars worth of vehicle fittings, a solid gain of 15.5% compared to the previous year. Over the period from 2018 to 2021, exports decreased by 16.1%, with a compound annual growth rate of -5.7%. The lowest value was recorded in 2020 at 143.3 million US dollars, which also saw the largest decline of 18.2%.

The lowest import volume was recorded in 2020 at 25 747 tonnes, which also experienced the largest decline of 29.6%.

From 2018 to 2021, Germany, Spain, and Slovakia consistently held leading positions in Czechia's vehicle fittings imports in kind. Germany accounted for 29.0% of imports, Spain for 11.8%, and Slovakia for 10.8%. Together, these three countries represented 51.6% of total import flows.

After two years of contraction, vehicle fittings imports into Czechia increased in 2021. Imports amounted to 188.1 million US dollars, representing a 26.5% rise compared to the previous year. Between 2018 and 2021, imports decreased by 20%, equating to an annualized rate of -7.2%. The lowest value was recorded in 2020 at 148.7 million US dollars, which also saw the largest decline of 26.4%.
