However, looking at the broader period from 2017 to 2020, overall production decreased by 5.4%, which translates to an average annual decline of 1.8%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2018 at 13 798 thousand tonnes, which also saw the largest year-on-year drop of 10.8%.
