Structural factors such as the predominance of informal local markets, limited agricultural information flow, and storage constraints posed ongoing challenges to market stability and commercialization. Despite a national production decline in 2023, Tete province reported significant growth that year due to increased farmer acceptance of these improved varieties. Meanwhile, the gradual uptake of digital marketing by small businesses and growing consumer appreciation for the crop's nutritional value began shaping market dynamics.
