Domestic production also rose from 94 thousand tons to 123 thousand tons over the period, though with fluctuations including a dip in 2021–2022. Exports fell from 75 thousand tons to 26 thousand tons, further boosting domestic availability.

Between 2018 and 2023, Hungary's sucrose market volume increased by 84%, reflecting strong underlying demand despite volatility in local output.
