The strawberry market volume in Finland demonstrated notable variability from 2018 to 2023. It grew from 18 109 t in 2018 to a high of 19 664 t in 2019, then contracted to 18 047 t in 2020. A recovery followed in 2021, bringing the market to 19 171 t, with a further slight increase to 19 462 t in 2022. The period concluded with a sharp decline to 17 063 t in 2023.

Changes in domestic production and import volumes were the direct components of this market movement. Production rose significantly from 15 510 t to 17 820 t between 2018 and 2019, while imports fell from 2 602 t to 1 844 t. In subsequent years, both series fluctuated inversely at times, such as in 2020 when lower production was partly offset by higher imports. The substantial market drop in 2023 coincided with reduced production of 13 900 t and imports of 3 170 t.

Over the six-year span, the market remained within a band of roughly 17 000 t to 19 700 t. Exports were minimal throughout and did not materially influence the total market size.
