The market for fresh spinach in Chile, measured by production volume, saw considerable variation from 2018 to 2023. A rebound followed in 2022, with production reaching 20 897 t, before declining again to 17 428 t in 2023.

For 2024, industry reports highlighted an expansion of spinach production in the key Metropolitan Region, which contributed to a 50% month-on-month drop in wholesale prices by September. Additionally, Chile's fresh vegetable exports, encompassing spinach, recorded a sharp 92.1% rise in volume and an 87.3% increase in value for the January-September period compared to the same timeframe a year earlier.
