Earlier Report Observations
Czech soybean production began at 25 260 t in 2018 and rose to 27 840 t the following year, with market volume expanding to 57 006 t. The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 disrupted feed supply chains, reducing imports and cutting market size to 41 714 t, while domestic non-GMO harvest reached 33 020 t.
Production surged to 51 460 t in 2021 and further to 65 540 t in 2022, boosting market volume to 62 409 t. In 2023, cheap imports from Ukraine pressured local growers, contributing to a slight output dip to 63 390 t, and market volume fell to 55 495 t as exports grew.
By 2024, imports reached 52 032 t, supported by competitive South American prices and EU policy shifts favoring U.S. and other origins. Domestic biofuel demand continued to underpin local soybean prices, while consumer interest in soy-based foods added a new dimension to market dynamics.
