Between 2018 and 2025, Bosnia and Herzegovina's trade in sauces, condiments, seasonings, and mustard showed substantial growth, with import volumes rising from 10,531 t to 13,279 t and export volumes expanding even more sharply from 4,924 t to 14,432 t. This period was characterized by the country becoming a more significant player in international trade for these products.

The domestic market volume, available from 2021 to 2024, contracted from 15,919 t to 14,271 t by 2023 before rebounding to 16,511 t in 2024. In contrast, the market's value demonstrated consistent strength, growing from $35.2 million to $44.8 million over the same three years, pointing to a notable increase in average product value or a shift in the product mix.

The rising export volumes, which began to exceed import volumes by 2025, suggest a transformation in the market's structure, with domestic production increasingly oriented toward foreign markets, which supported overall value growth despite fluctuations in local consumption volume.

The market exhibited volatility during the observed period. The minimum export volume was recorded in 2018, while the maximum occurred in 2020, showing a 2.4-fold difference between these years. In 2021, Bosnia and Herzegovina exported 11 126 tons of sauces, condiments, seasonings, and mustard, marking a moderate decrease of 5.8% compared to the previous year. The largest annual increase was observed in 2019, with a growth rate of 102.4%.

From 2018 to 2021, Austria, Czechia, and Croatia were the primary destinations for Bosnia and Herzegovina's exports of sauces, condiments, seasonings, and mustard in kind. Austria accounted for 43.6% of exports, Czechia for 13.2%, and Croatia for 11.6%. Together, these three countries absorbed 68.3% of total exports in kind.

During 2018–2021, Austria, Croatia, and Czechia were the largest buyers of sauces, condiments, seasonings, and mustard from Bosnia and Herzegovina in value terms.
