The Greek safety glass market, measured in value terms, expanded from 35.5 million USD in 2018 to 43.3 million USD in 2019. This growth coincided with increased domestic production, which rose to 21.9 million USD, and higher imports, reaching 24.5 million USD. In 2020, the market contracted to 37.8 million USD as production declined to 19.7 million USD and imports fell to 20.4 million USD.

From 2021 onward, import values demonstrated sustained growth, climbing from 33.5 million USD to 50.3 million USD in 2024. During the same period, export values rose substantially from 5.1 million USD to 15.4 million USD, reflecting increased international trade activity for safety glass.

In 2020, output was valued at 19 703 K $ US, marking a significant decrease of 10.2% compared to the previous year. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, production increased by 59.7%, with a compound annual growth rate of 16.9%. The highest production value was recorded in 2019 at 21 947 K $ US, while the largest annual increase occurred in 2018 at 47.6%.

The data shows irregular fluctuations, pointing to a volatile market environment. Greece's safety glass exports totaled 702 t in 2020, representing a moderate decrease of 6.6% from 2019. The lowest export volume was recorded in 2020, while the peak was in 2018 at 1 622 t, resulting in a 2.3-fold difference between these years. The largest decline occurred in 2019 at 53.6%, and the most substantial increase was in 2018 at 71.9%.

From 2017 to 2020, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Romania were the primary markets for Greece's safety glass exports in volume terms. Cyprus accounted for 41.0% of exports, Bulgaria for 22.6%, and Romania for 8.0%. Together, these three countries represented 71.6% of total export flows.

The largest decline occurred in 2019 at 33.3%, while the most significant increase was in 2018 at 56.6%.

Between 2017 and 2020, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and the United States led Greece's safety glass exports in value terms. Cyprus contributed 25.3% of export value, Bulgaria 23.3%, and the United States 9.4%. Collectively, these three markets accounted for 57.9% of total export flows.

After two years of growth, Greece's safety glass imports declined. In 2020, imports amounted to approximately 20 511 t, reflecting a solid drop of 14.2% from 2019. From 2017 to 2020, imports increased by 25.2%, equating to an annualized rate of 7.8%. The peak import volume was in 2019 at 23 895 t, and the largest increase occurred in 2018 at 22.2%.

Throughout 2017-2020, China, Italy, and Bulgaria formed the core of Greece's safety glass imports in volume terms. China accounted for 22.8% of imports, Italy for 16.3%, and Bulgaria for 15.2%. Together, these three countries made up 54.3% of total import flows.
