A recovery began in 2021, with volume expanding to 50 thousand t. This rebound coincided with a global surge in malt prices, driven by a significant drop in barley production in the United States which tightened supply and affected import costs. The market continued to grow in 2022, reaching 56 thousand t.

After a slight correction to 55 thousand t in 2023, the market volume fell markedly to 46 thousand t in 2024, mirroring the low point seen in 2020.
