The volume of Croatia's market for rigid plastic tubes, pipes and hoses of PE grew substantially from 7 309 tonnes in 2018 to 13 839 tonnes in 2024. This expansion was supported by increasing domestic production, which rose from 7 946 tonnes to 12 035 tonnes over the period, and a near doubling of imports from 2 806 tonnes to 6 013 tonnes. Exports also expanded, but at a slower pace, rising from 3 443 tonnes to 4 209 tonnes. After steady annual growth, the market experienced a slight contraction in 2023 to 11 637 tonnes before rebounding strongly in 2024.

In value terms, the market exhibited more volatility, starting at USD 14.6 million in 2018, dipping to USD 12.7 million in 2019, then surging to a peak of USD 26.6 million in 2022. It contracted to USD 24.0 million in 2023 before recovering to USD 26.0 million in 2024. The value of production followed a similar pattern, while import value more than doubled from USD 7.5 million to USD 14.7 million, and export value increased from USD 8.4 million to USD 13.6 million.

In 2020, output was valued at 14 369 thousand US dollars, showing a slight decrease of 0.9% compared to 2019. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, production fell by 5.3%, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of -1.8%. The highest value was recorded in 2018 at 15 548 thousand US dollars, which saw an increase of 2.4%. The largest decline occurred in 2019, with a drop of 6.7%.

In 2020, Croatia produced 8 617 tonnes of rigid plastic tubes, pipes and hoses made from polyethylene (PE), reflecting a small decline of 2.6% compared to the previous year. The lowest production volume was recorded in 2018 at 7 946 tonnes, which marked a decrease of 9.4%. The highest volume was achieved in 2019 at 8 846 tonnes, representing an increase of 11.3%.

In 2020, export volume was recorded at 3 363 tonnes, which is 17.6% lower than in 2019. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, exports increased by 9.2%, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.0%. The highest export volume was in 2019 at 4 082 tonnes, which saw an increase of 18.6%.

From 2017 to 2020, the main markets for Croatia's exports of rigid plastic tubes, pipes and hoses made from polyethylene (PE) were Bosnia and Herzegovina (28.0% of exports in volume), Slovenia (24.9% of exports in volume), and Austria (11.1% of exports in volume). Together, these three countries accounted for 63.9% of total export flows.
