This coincided with the implementation in September 2024 of new EU compensatory and anti-dumping duties on tyres from China, which raised import costs and affected price competition and market entry decisions. Simultaneously, the EU's R117-04 regulation, effective in Poland, mandated that retreaded tyres meet the same wet braking performance as new tyres, elevating quality standards and likely production costs. Increased sales of new passenger car and SUV tyres, as reported by the Polish Tyre Industry Association for 2024, supported overall tyre demand, providing a stable foundation for the retreaded segment.

In 2020, export volume reached 213.2 thousand units, representing a significant 11.8% increase compared to 2019. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, exports surged by 335.8%, with a compound annual growth rate of 63.3%.

Between 2017 and 2020, Poland's export market for retreaded tyres in volume terms was quite diverse. Ukraine accounted for 22.1% of exports, Germany for 14.4%, and Romania for 8.8%, together making up just 45.3% of total flows. The remaining 54.7% was distributed among numerous other countries.

The largest decline occurred in 2019, with a drop of 21.5%, while the largest increase was in 2018, with a surge of 1 927.2%.
