The harvested area rose by 11% in 2018 and continued to grow at an average annual rate of 4.2% through 2022, supported by agricultural policies aimed at crop expansion. This was complemented by a significant 22% yield improvement in the Middle East from the previous year, which boosted overall output.

Following a peak in global quince consumption in 2021, the market volume in Western Asia declined to 227.9 thousand tons in 2023. This contraction coincided with the harvested area in the Middle East reaching its maximum in 2023 before a slight decrease, while shifting consumer preferences towards fresh and organic produce began to influence demand patterns.

In value terms, the market grew from $169.7 million in 2018 to $213.5 million in 2023, with a notable increase in 2023 despite a lower physical volume, reflecting the impact of global price fluctuations and supply chain dynamics. By 2024, supermarkets and hypermarkets had solidified their dominance in distribution, accompanied by accelerated online channel growth.
