From 2018 to 2023, the Thai market for fresh or chilled pumpkins, squash and gourds remained relatively stable, fluctuating within a range of approximately 108 to 113 thousand tons. The market volume reached its highest point in 2019 at 113.3 thousand tons, then gradually declined to a low of 107.7 thousand tons in 2021 before recovering slightly in the following two years.

While domestic production dominated the market, minor trade flows were observed. Exports saw a notable increase to 0.8 thousand tons in 2022, which coincided with a temporary dip in available domestic supply. Imports remained minimal throughout the period, never exceeding 0.5 thousand tons, indicating a self-sufficient market structure.

Overall, from 2017 to 2020, production fell by 8.6%, which translates to an average annual decrease of 2.9%.
