The market for fresh pumpkins, squash and gourds in Cyprus expanded consistently from 2018 to 2021, with volume growing from 2 354 t to 2 770 t. This trend was interrupted in 2022 when the market contracted to 2 442 t, before recovering to 2 618 t in 2023.

Domestic production followed a similar pattern, reaching a high of 2 700 t in 2021 before falling to 2 350 t in 2022. The rebound in production to 2 550 t in 2023 supported the market's recovery, although the volume remained below the peak observed two years earlier.

Imports varied year-to-year but stayed below 120 t, confirming that local harvests form the backbone of supply. Export activity was negligible throughout the period, leaving domestic output as the primary determinant of market size.
