Africa's production of pumpkins, squash, and gourds has grown for the second year in a row. In 2020, the continent produced 3,173 thousand tonnes, marking an 11.2% increase compared to the previous year. Looking at the period from 2017 to 2020, overall production rose by 15.9%, with an average annual growth rate of 5.0%. The lowest output was recorded in 2018 at 2,726 thousand tonnes, which also saw the largest decline of 0.5% during this timeframe.
