General government efforts to promote agricultural production and livestock farming provided additional support to the sector during this period.

Growth continued through 2022, reinforced by FAO-assisted programs that reduced animal disease threats and improved livestock health stability. In 2023, the market volume rose to 102 730 t, supported by rising agricultural exports exceeding USD 2 billion, but high inflation of 21.7% began to affect consumer purchasing power, moderating the pace of expansion compared to previous years.
