Broad price increases in the meat sector also influenced consumer behavior.

In 2024, expanded origin labeling requirements for unpackaged fresh, chilled, or frozen poultry meat took effect, and the market saw growing demand for clean-label products such as organic and antibiotic-free options. Poultry production edged up, led by chicken meat which holds a 70% share.
