The market stabilized around 4.4 million tonnes in 2022, supported by government visits to promote local seed production and interventions to regulate price fluctuations.

In 2023, the market recovered to 4.7 million tonnes. This rebound was fueled by complementary irrigation, the rehabilitation of agricultural land, and the destocking of significant potato quantities by the state regulator SARPA to stabilize supply and modernize wholesale markets.
