From 2018 to 2020, Greece imported between 33 000 and 37 000 tons of potassium sulphate fertilizers annually, with imports gradually declining from 36 843 tons in 2018. The market volume, available from 2021, stood at 28 052 tons that year.

In 2022, the market volume dropped sharply to 19 280 tons, a 31% decrease, coinciding with the energy crisis and sharp rises in raw material prices that increased production and transportation costs. During this period, EuroChem began actively promoting potassium sulphate in the Greek market, highlighting its advantages over potassium chloride for chlorine-sensitive crops and for improving product quality. The market partially recovered to 21 461 tons in 2023 despite ongoing geopolitical tensions and inflationary pressures. By 2024, it expanded significantly to 29 932 tons, approaching the 2021 level, supported by sustained farmer preference for low-salinity fertilizers.

In 2020, export volume reached 1 933 tonnes, marking a sharp 45.2% increase compared to 2019. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, exports grew by 364.3%, with a compound annual growth rate of 66.8%.

From 2017 to 2020, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania formed the core of Greece's potassium sulphate fertilizer exports in kind. Hungary accounted for 28.7% of exports, Bulgaria for 25.6%, and Romania for 19.0%. Together, these three countries represented 73.3% of total export flows.

From 2017 to 2020, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania were the main destinations for Greece's potassium sulphate fertilizer exports in value terms. Between 2017 and 2020, imports increased by 36.7%, with an annualized rate of 11.0%. The largest decline occurred in 2019, with a 10.0% drop, while the largest increase was recorded in 2018 at 41.3%. The peak import volume was in 2018, reaching 36 843 tonnes.
