The pork market in Trinidad and Tobago contracted from 2018 to 2020, with total volume falling from 8,068 t to 7,332 t. This decline coincided with a reduction in both domestic production and import volumes during the period.

A sharp reversal occurred in 2021, driving market volume up by over 20% to 8,828 t. This expansion was primarily fueled by a significant increase in imports, which rose by nearly 1,300 t compared to the previous year, while local production also saw a modest recovery.

Following the 2021 peak, the market stabilized at a level just above 8,300 t in 2022 and 2023, with import volumes remaining elevated to support overall consumption.
