Exports POM in primary forms from Sweden

Sweden's exports of POM in primary forms have grown for the second year in a row. In 2019, shipments reached 1 527 tonnes, representing a 1.1% increase from the previous year. The lowest export volume was recorded in 2018 at 1 459 tonnes, which marked a 5.0% decline. The largest increase occurred in 2019 with a 3.5% rise.

From 2017 to 2020, Denmark, Norway, and Germany were the top destinations for Sweden's exports of POM in primary forms by volume. Denmark accounted for 20.8% of exports, Norway for 18.2%, and Germany for 15.2%. Together, these three countries made up 54.1% of total export flows.

After two years of growth, Sweden's exports of POM in primary forms by value declined in 2020. Exports stood at 5 150 thousand US dollars, down 2.3% from 2019. The peak was in 2019 at 5 274 thousand US dollars. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, exports increased by 22.1%, equivalent to an annualized growth rate of 6.9%. The largest increase was in 2018, with a 15.2% rise.

From 2017 to 2020, Germany, Belgium, and South Korea were the main sources of POM in primary forms imports to Sweden by volume. Germany supplied 50.2% of imports, Belgium 25.5%, and South Korea 8.0%. Together, these three countries comprised 83.7% of total import flows.
