In 2020, Germany produced 25 510 tonnes of peas, marking a 5.2% increase from the previous year. However, over the 2017-2020 period, production fell by 20.5%, averaging an annual decline of 7.4%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2018 at 24 240 tonnes, which also saw the sharpest drop of 24.4%.

After a two-year decline, pea imports into Germany rebounded in 2020, reaching 7 994 tonnes, an 18.2% increase from the previous year. However, over the 2017-2020 period, imports decreased by 20.7%, with an average annual decline of 7.5%. The lowest volume was in 2019 at 6 763 tonnes, following a sharp 24.7% drop in 2018.
