After two years of growth, Croatia's pastry import volume declined. In 2020, Croatia imported 50 746 tonnes of pastry, reflecting a moderate decrease of 7.6% compared to 2019. Between 2017 and 2020, imports increased by 18.7%, averaging an annual rise of 5.9%. The peak volume was recorded in 2019 at 54 916 tonnes, which also saw the largest annual increase at 18.0%.

From 2017 to 2020, pastry imports to Croatia came from a diverse range of markets. Germany, Italy, and Poland were the top suppliers in volume terms, with Germany accounting for 22.6% of imports, Italy for 13.4%, and Poland for 11.2%. Together, they represented 47.2% of total imports, while numerous smaller destinations made up the remaining 52.8%.

After a two-year rise, Croatia's pastry import volume declined. In 2020, imports stood at 119.5 million US dollars, indicating a modest decrease of 6.5% compared to 2019. Between 2017 and 2020, imports grew by 27.3%, with an average annual increase of 8.4%. The highest value was recorded in 2019 at 127.8 million US dollars, and the largest annual increase occurred in 2018 at 20.6%.
