Earlier Report Observations
In 2018, Russia's particle board market reached 6.2 million m³, supported by demand from the construction and furniture industries as well as state procurement programs. The market then contracted to 5.3 million m³ in 2019 and further to 4.9 million m³ in 2020, with the latter decline partly attributed to supply chain and production disruptions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A recovery followed in 2021, lifting the market to 6.2 million m³. This rebound was driven by increased production and a proposed temporary export ban that boosted domestic availability. However, in 2022 the market fell again to 5.2 million m³ due to sanctions and a contraction in manufacturing output.
The market expanded once more in 2023, reaching 6.2 million m³. Growth was fueled by a revival in production, buoyant housing construction, low mortgage rates, and a reduction in export volumes.
