From 2018 to 2020, the market volume for not roasted and not cooked groundnuts in Bolivia showed modest fluctuations, moving from 15 690 t to 15 339 t with a temporary peak of 16 140 t in 2019.

A sharp contraction followed, with the market falling to 10 617 t in 2021 and bottoming out at 8 276 t in 2022. This decline was driven by a historic surge in exports, which reached 18 410 t in 2022 as Bolivian peanuts secured new international buyers in Peru, Colombia, and Ecuador. The market rebounded to 13 661 t in 2023 as export volumes normalized to 13 130 t, while domestic production remained consistently above 26 000 t.

In 2024, the government enacted comprehensive front-of-pack labeling regulations for foods, including peanuts, mandating warning seals for excess sodium or added fats and restricting child-targeted promotion. Supply chains were also affected by adverse climatic factors, including droughts and wildfires, which impacted agricultural output.

The most significant annual increase occurred in 2018, when production rose by 5.9%. Overall, from 2017 to 2020, production grew by 4.9%, which translates to an average annual growth rate of 1.6%.
