The Croatian market for not retail-packaged artificial filament yarn contracted significantly in physical terms between 2018 and 2024, falling from 9 048 t to 4 033 t. This decline was marked by a sharp 29% drop in volume in 2020, followed by a strong 31% rebound in 2021. However, the recovery proved temporary as volume fell again by 36% in 2023 and a further 10% in 2024.

In value terms, the market exhibited a different dynamic, reaching a peak of 51 021 thousand US dollars in 2022 despite lower physical volume, indicating a period of higher unit prices. The subsequent years saw value decline in line with volume, with the market falling to 28 786 thousand US dollars by the end of the period.

Overall, the market more than halved in volume over the seven-year span. The most substantial decreases occurred in 2020 and 2023, while the interim growth in 2021-2022 did not alter the prevailing downward trend.

From 2017 to 2020, Serbia, Romania, and Austria were the main markets for Croatia's exports of not retail-packaged artificial filament yarn in volume terms.
