Earlier Report Observations

From 2018 to 2019, the market for not in shell eggs and egg yolks expanded from 67.2 thousand tons to 87.9 thousand tons. This increase was driven by continued growth in egg product production and a stable positive market trend, supported by the expansion of the processed egg product range.

After peaking in 2019, market volume slightly declined to 85.2 thousand tons in 2020 and then fell sharply to 38.6 thousand tons in 2021. This contraction coincided with a rise in egg product exports, which grew from 52.1 thousand tons in 2019 to 57.1 thousand tons in 2021, reducing domestic availability. In the following years, the market stabilized around 40 thousand tons, partly due to increased demand for high-protein products like dried egg yolk and growing interest in exporting functional egg yolks for segments such as sports nutrition.

By 2023-2024, sustained export growth and shifts in government policy, including the zeroing of import duties on food chicken eggs to ensure market supply, influenced the market structure. The share of local dried egg yolk producers exceeded half of the B2B segment for the first time, while about 50 investment projects in egg poultry farming aimed at modernization and production expansion were implemented. However, market volume remained below pre-2021 levels, reaching 30.4 thousand tons in 2023.
