The market's movements were primarily influenced by shifts in import volumes, which varied from a high of 476.2 thousand tonnes in 2022 to a low of 405.3 thousand tonnes in 2023. Export volumes, while variable, played a minor role due to their smaller scale.

Overall, the market volume in 2023 was approximately 7% lower than in 2018, reflecting a period of volatility rather than consistent growth or decline. The stability in domestic production contrasted with the fluctuations in trade flows, which dictated the overall market size.
