The market for non-domestic heat exchange units in Slovakia showed considerable volatility between 2018 and 2022. After contracting to 6.6 million units in 2019, market volume recovered strongly and peaked at 10.4 million units in 2021, a rise of 59% from the previous year.

This growth in 2021 was supported by a sharp increase in imports, which reached 19.8 million units, while export volumes held relatively steady. Domestic production, however, continued a downward trend, falling from 1.3 million units in 2018 to 0.8 million units by 2022.

In value terms, the market followed a similar trajectory, reaching $182.6 million in 2021 before moderating to $177.8 million in 2022, alongside a slight decrease in physical volume to 9.5 million units.

The largest increase occurred in 2018 with an 8.0% rise.

After two years of consecutive growth, Slovakia's exports of non-domestic heat exchange units declined. In 2020, exports were valued at 123.5 million US dollars, marking a 6.0% decrease from 2019.
