By 2024, imports showed a slight uptick to 8.8 thousand m³ but remained at a fraction of their 2018 level. During these years, Iraq implemented general economic and industrial policy shifts aimed at supporting the domestic industrial sector, including streamlined procedures for establishing industrial projects and legislative amendments to foster industrial development. These broader conditions provided a context for the market's structure, where stable local output met significantly reduced foreign supply.
