After two years of growth, Slovakia's natural sands export volumes declined. In 2020, the country exported 177.0 thousand tonnes of natural sands, showing a 20.2% decrease from the prior year. Looking at the broader period from 2017 to 2020, exports increased by 3.2%, with an annualized growth rate of 1.1%. The peak export volume was recorded in 2019 at 221.7 thousand tonnes, which also saw the largest annual increase of 19.3%.

From 2017 to 2020, Czechia, Croatia, and Poland were the main destinations for Slovakia's natural sands exports in volume terms. Czechia accounted for 51.9% of exports, Croatia for 27.1%, and Poland for 8.9%. Together, these three countries absorbed 87.9% of Slovakia's total natural sands exports.

The highest value was recorded in 2019 at 3 884 thousand US dollars, which also experienced the largest annual increase of 17.7%.

The highest value was recorded in 2019 at 12 587 thousand US dollars, while the largest annual increase occurred in 2018 at 20.2%.
