Earlier Report Observations

The physical volume of Poland's milk powder market expanded significantly from 69.4 thousand tons in 2018 to a peak of 118.9 thousand tons in 2022. This growth period saw import volumes rise from 37.6 thousand tons to 74.0 thousand tons, while domestic production remained relatively stable between 155 and 165 thousand tons. Exports, although substantial, did not fully offset the increased supply from imports and production.

After 2022, market volume contracted to 96.8 thousand tons in 2023 and 88.2 thousand tons in 2024. During this downturn, import volumes fell from their 2022 high, and production edged lower, while exports continued to grow, reaching 134.8 thousand tons in 2024. In value terms, the market size mirrored this pattern, rising from $235.9 million in 2020 to $413.7 million in 2022 before declining to $248.6 million in 2024.
