Between 2018 and 2020, the market volume for fresh leguminous vegetables in Uzbekistan increased from 16 797 tons to 17 490 tons. This growth was supported by government measures to boost agricultural exports, including the establishment of an Exporters Association and a digital logistics platform in 2018, followed by the approval of a comprehensive Agriculture Development Strategy for 2020-2030, which fostered investment and production.

Market volume then stabilized around 17 200-17 300 tons from 2021 to 2022. During this period, authorities focused on long-term structural improvements, such as preparations for the large wholesale market FOOD CITY to enhance distribution and a presidential decree launching a national seed development program aimed at increasing yields and promoting the 'Uzbek seeds' brand. Export procedures were also simplified for individual entrepreneurs, although legume exports remained minimal.

In 2023, the market rose to 17 695 tons, largely due to a significant increase in imports to 399 tons, coinciding with broader economic liberalization and GDP growth that facilitated trade. In 2024, the government introduced minimum export prices for fruit and vegetable products and extended zero import duties on vegetables and legumes until 2026.

Looking at the period from 2017 to 2020, production rose by 6.7%, which translates to an average annual growth rate of 2.2%.
