This surge was driven by the growing trend toward transfer coating in leather finishing, which offered technological and sustainability advantages, alongside the development of specialized color intensifying agents for suede and nubuck leathers that enhanced fixation and aesthetics without compromising touch.

Following the 2022 peak, market volume corrected to 40 189 t in 2023 and further to 38 910 t in 2024, settling near pre-surge levels.
