Earlier Report Observations

Between 2018 and 2020, the jewellery market size in Poland contracted from $181.3 million to $169.3 million, with production falling from $29.1 million to $19.2 million. During this time, the domestic market in Polish zloty terms showed resilience, with the precious jewellery segment valued at over PLN 268 million in 2019 and the broader gold and precious metals market approaching PLN 3 billion, supported by strong demand for women's pieces and growth in local amber and agate-based production.

The market rebounded strongly in 2021 as pandemic restrictions eased, with import values rising to $307.6 million. Sales of luxury jewellery climbed 23.4% to PLN 269 million, driven by consumers seeking inflation-resistant assets. Traditional family workshops continued to decline, while large brands like YES, W.Kruk, and Briju strengthened their positions. In 2022, the jewellery and watches market grew by over 10% to PLN 540 million, supported by rising demand for women's precious jewellery and the industry's shift towards sustainability, exemplified by Pandora's adoption of recycled materials and lab-grown diamonds.

Luxury jewellery and watches sales in Poland reached PLN 653 million in 2023, an 18.3% increase, with the segment's share of the total luxury goods market rising from 5% to 8.1%. This growth was fueled by a growing base of high-earning women, increasing popularity of men's jewellery, and brands offering personalized products. Sustainability remained a key trend, with greater use of recycled metals and synthetic diamonds influencing both production and consumer choice.
