Georgia's in-shell almond market volume fluctuated between 951 t and 1,222 t from 2018 to 2023, ending the period 19% higher than its starting point. The market peaked at 1,208 t in 2020, followed by a contraction over the next two years before rebounding strongly to its highest level in 2023.

Domestic production showed a steady upward trend, increasing from 940 t in 2018 to 985 t in 2023. Import volumes were highly volatile, with a sharp drop to zero in 2021 preceding a surge to 427 t in 2023. The launch of significant exports from Georgia in 2022, which reached 190 t in 2023, partially offset the supply from domestic production and imports.

The sharp rise in imports was the primary driver behind the record market volume of 1,222 t in 2023, while steady production growth provided a stable domestic base throughout the period.

Georgia's in-shell almond production has increased for the second consecutive year. In 2020, the country produced 969.0 t of in-shell almonds, marking a 2.6% increase compared to the previous year. The lowest production level was recorded in 2018 at 939.5 t, which also saw the largest decline of 1.1%.
