In 2022, production fell further to 90.6 thousand tons and market volume dropped to 87.2 thousand tons, with environmental factors and climate change impacting yields and availability. The following year saw a recovery, with production reaching 106.6 thousand tons and market value hitting $463.7 million, supported by technological advances in beekeeping—such as AI monitoring systems—and sustained demand for honey with functional health properties, alongside the expansion of online and supermarket distribution channels.
