That year, the EU's temporary measures (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/632) restricted imports of certain fruits to prevent the spread of the plant pest Phyllosticta citricarpa, influencing import flows. The market then surged to 3 615 t in 2023, marking the highest volume since 2018. By 2024, the market retreated to 2 091 t, returning to levels near those of 2021.
