This sustained drop in imports was the main driver behind the overall market contraction during the period.

In 2024, alongside the continued import decline, Egypt's fertilizer sector—a key consumer of fluorspar—showed notable activity. The market value of Verkim Egypt for Fertilizers and Chemicals surged by 746% following a merger and move to the main stock exchange, reflecting major investment in the industry. Furthermore, domestic natural gas output rose by approximately 8%, supporting fertilizer manufacturing which relies on fluorspar as a critical raw material.
