The market for flexible iron or steel tubing in Hungary expanded significantly between 2018 and 2023. In physical terms, market volume rose from 826 t to 2 466 t, while in value it surged from $5.99 million to $57.68 million. This growth was driven primarily by a steep increase in domestic production, which jumped from 79 t to 1 564 t over the same period.

The structure of supply shifted markedly as production grew. Imports remained a key component but stable in volume, ranging between 960 t and 1 138 t from 2018 to 2023. Meanwhile, exports fell sharply after 2021, dropping from 348 t to 59 t by 2023, which further increased the volume available on the domestic market.

Looking at the full period to 2025, import volumes showed fluctuation but generally stayed above 750 t, while export volumes stabilized at a lower level after the 2023 decline. The available data underscores a market where local manufacturing capacity has become increasingly important.
