Earlier Report Observations

The fibreboard market volume in Latin America and the Caribbean exhibited considerable volatility between 2018 and 2023. Starting at 15.2 million m³ in 2018, it dropped sharply to 9.3 million m³ in 2019. A moderate recovery to 9.9 million m³ followed in 2020, before a strong rebound to 14.1 million m³ in 2021. However, the market contracted again to 8.0 million m³ in 2022 and edged down slightly to 7.7 million m³ in 2023.

Production followed a similar pattern, rising from 7.0 million m³ in 2018 to a peak of 9.5 million m³ in 2021, then declining to 7.5 million m³ in 2023. The overall market settled at a lower volume by the end of the period.
