The electricity meter market in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2018 to 2022 was influenced by the rollout of smart meters and regulatory shifts. Regulators in the Federation of BiH introduced technical requirements for Class 0.2 S meters aligned with European standards, which spurred demand for compliant devices. State-owned utilities Elektroprivreda BiH (EPBiH) and Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske (ERS) led the installation of smart metering and remote reading systems to cut distribution losses, improving from 7.84% in 2019 to 7.49% in 2022. From 2023 to 2025, import volumes climbed steadily to 163.0 thousand units, while exports peaked at 106.9 thousand units in 2024 before easing to 80.1 thousand. Production recovered to 151.9 thousand units in 2024. In value terms, the market expanded to $25.2 million in 2024, reflecting sustained demand for advanced metering solutions.
